Hualien Cultural & Creative Industries Park

About

In the heart of Hualien City, the Hualien Cultural and Creative Industries Park (HualienCCIP) was once the site of a winery, the development of which can be said to be a testament to the history of this city’s old downtown. To the northeast is Ziyou Street, previously known as Kau-á- bué ditch, around which this city bustled in the 1950s and 1960s. CCIP is a great starting point for travellers to explore old Hualien, to slow down and enjoy Hualien’s culture while collaboratively creating the future of this park.

On July 1, 2022, the Ministry of Culture commissioned the Taiwan Living Arts Foundation to operate and manage this park, as well as to turn it into a base for the development of eastern Taiwan’s creative and cultural industries. Currently, application can be made to use some of its indoor and outdoor venues for cultural and creative industries activities and public events. Markets and street performers appear on weekends and holidays, while themed arts and cultural activities are organized on an irregular basis.
