Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab (C-Lab) was established in 2018 and is situated in Da’an District in the heart of Taipei City. It occupies approximately seven hectares of what was the Industrial Research Institute of Taiwan Governor-General’s Office during the period of Japanese rule (1895 – 1945), and then the R.O.C. Air Force Command Headquarters following World War II. C-Lab is a large-scale experimental arts and culture environment supported by the Ministry of Culture, and comprises five thematic labs: Contemporary Art, Digital Humanities, Audio/Visual, Remembrance Projects, and Social Innovation. These labs facilitate residencies, experimental exhibitions, performances, public talks, co-learning workshops, and diverse social, educational, and innovation management projects. Liaisons among culture professionals and tech support teams are formed to create a future-oriented, international platform for cultural collaboration, as well as an experimental site for networking in Asia.
