About Us

In 2018, C-LAB signed an agreement with the Institute for Research and Coordination in Acoustics/Music (IRCAM) of France to launch the Taiwan Sound Lab. This facility is dedicated to integrating sound technology with artistic and cultural development through pragmatic research for the advancement of sound art in Taiwan. Taiwan Sound Lab fosters interdisciplinary collaboration through talent cultivation, co-productions, research and development, and exhibitions or performances. In addition to a compact sound workstation, it hosts the Spatial Audio Field equipped with a 49.4-channel speaker setup, the first immersive sound theater of its kind in Taiwan. Since its opening in 2019, the lab has supported creators in leveraging technology, music, and sound to realize a variety of innovative projects, connecting artists and organizations across disciplines and expanding international collaborations with partners in France, Korea, Canada, Austria, and beyond.
