This meeting, hosted by 2022 C-LAB CREATORS Studio 204, will focus on reading and discussing two major monographs on Taipei as an aquatic city: SHU Guozhi’s “The Aquatic City of Taipei” and FANG Huizhen’s “River.”
Addressing the physical, historical, and symbolic images of the Taipei basin in these two monographs, we hope to as how a kind of aquatic language exists in the writings of Taipei as a genre itself. How does this kind of writing exceed the boundary of liberal morality?
We hope to venture into a possible land where original Taiwanese ecocriticism grows.
