Drawing from their own experiences, the participating artists in this talk will share how they identify and apply for residency programs that best suit their creative practices and needs. The talk will cover practical considerations such as evaluating residency resources, understanding application requirements, developing effective proposal strategies, and building meaningful connections across different cultural and institutional contexts during a residency. The artists will also reflect on how their residency experiences have shaped the development of their creative practices over time.

▌ Cetus KUO Chin-Yun
Cetus KUO Chin-Yun is a research-oriented, transdisciplinary creator. Her artistic practice encompasses experimental film, video installation, and performance art. By rewriting official records and fictional narratives, she reveals the “invisible boundaries” that continue to operate through resource allocation and technological governance even after physical boundaries have disappeared. Global migration, migrant labor routes, and more-than-human diasporic experiences are thus transformed into strategies of artistic resistance. Her works have been exhibited at the Asian Art Biennial, the Taiwan Art Biennial, Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) in Berlin, the Venice Biennale, and Zeitz MOCAA in Cape Town, with screenings at Filmfest Dresden and the Taiwan Documentary Film Festival in Thailand, among others.
▌ TSAI Pou-Ching
Born in Chiayi in 1986, TSAI Pou-Ching currently lives and works in Tainan. Stemming from his childhood fondness for animals, TSAI’s recent work has primarily tackled the relationship between humans and animals. He believes that humans have developed an extremely complex mode of survival in the contemporary world, rendering their relationship with animals highly intricate. In such a structure, how to reconceptualize the relationship between humans and animals, and even explore possibilities beyond established frameworks, remains his central concern.
▌ TUAN Mu
Tuan Mu (b. 1994, Taiwan) is an artist, director and independent curator based in Taipei whose practice examines how the world can be understood and structured as a whole amidst shifting technological, cultural, and ecological conditions. Utilizing immersive technology, artificial intelligence, moving images, sound, ink painting and calligraphy, he investigates the contemporary interplay of different cosmologies, shaping systems of perception via embodied action, narrative, and temporality.
▌ HUANG Yi-Hsuan
HUANG Yi-Hsuan is currently a Specialist at C-LAB’s Contemporary Art Platform. Her curatorial and research practices focus on approaches to memory and mourning within Asian contexts. She regards exhibition production as a foundation for developing curatorial methodologies, and explores how exhibitions can function as an “interface” that connects artworks, spaces, and audiences.
Her recent curatorial projects include Trans-plant at the Audio Visual Pavilion, South Korea (2024); The Limit Is the Turbulent Skies at the MoNTUE, Taipei, Taiwan (2025); and Life Is a Hushed Pond at Glitch, Taichung, Taiwan (2026). She is also the author of the independently published artist’s book In the Abyss (2024) and a member of the curatorial collective Nn̄g Project.
