This project originated from the “Spices Coffee Project,” a collaborative initiative developed by artist Cheng Jen-Pei and a coffee artisan in Yokohama. Through historical context, olfactory guidance, visual interpretation, and tasting, the project creates a multifaceted journey of artistic perception. At the event, participants will have the opportunity to taste a signature spices coffee created by the artist.

In addition, participants will draw on their personal memories and sensory experiences to create their own “Spices Tea” during the workshop. Through the senses of smell and taste, distant landscapes and cultures are brought into the present, while the interweaving aromas of tea and coffee open up a cross-regional dialogue between food culture and aesthetics.
