In today’s digital culture, system updates have become routine. When versions become incompatible, outputs may be delayed during calibration. Temporal distance may likewise disrupt continuity, shaping present modes of understanding in which artistic intentions and gestures of the time become difficult to render.

Prompt: System Update approaches re-enactment as a means of engaging earlier artistic practices. Re-enactment is understood as a process of reconfiguration, through which preliminary propositions are recompiled under altered conditions. Developed in collaboration between the School of Fine Arts at Taipei National University of the Arts (TNUA) and Asia Art Archive, the exhibition frames re-enactment as a system prompt, reopening trajectories in Taiwanese art history as acts of renewed perception.
