About
In 2018, C-LAB signed an agreement with the Institute for Research and Coordination in Acoustics/Music (IRCAM) of France to jointly establish the Taiwan Sound Lab. Dedicated to the integration of sound technologies, arts, and culture, as well as the development of sound art in Taiwan through scientific approaches, the Taiwan Sound Lab carries out exchanges across disciplines of arts, technology, and research through talent cultivation, co-productions, research and development, exhibitions, and performances. In addition to its workstations, the Taiwan Sound Lab features the Spatial Audio Field, the first immersive sound theater space in Taiwan. Completed in 2019, it is equipped with a 49.4 channel speaker array and 75 seats. Application for use is open, with engineers on-site to assist with live performances to support experimental sound art creation and theater productions.
