The library (former Zhongshan Hall and now Art Space II) and the military officers’ dormitory were in the area set aside for living quarters. The two dormitory buildings were constructed in the 70s and 80s and are symmetrical with the library in the center. Modernism is showcased in the robust and weighty feel of the buildings with vertical lines. Dormitory A is the space for the Experimental Architecture Project, whose specially-designed walls symbolize the opening up for connections. Through international seminars, workshops, experimental architecture, and data collection, discussions and exchanges are held with the general public and experts in various fields.
