Temporary Club

The Temporary Clubhouse provides a transitory base for its members (people with mental disorders) to autonomously facilitate discussions and gatherings. It challenges pre-existed clubhouses for people with mental disorders and experiments with the members’ independence and agency under the circumstance of being unrestricted by the given rules, pondering how acts of empowerment can be utilized as an element in art practices for offering the silent other almost with aphasia a space to speak up for themselves.

The transient community does not only serve as a daily shelter but also a creative approach to open up more social imagination via various forms of gatherings. Through the imagination of an ideal community, it contemplates the collective images of people with mental disorders and confronts their status quo and adversities.
