Exploring the Multi-dimensional Archive: Organic Articulation and Digital Curation of Taiwan LGBTQ+ History

Following the statement of renowned Queer Studies scholar CHI Ta-Wei: The history of Taiwan Tongzhi is realized by “doing,” this project aims at constructing the very first Taiwan LGBTQ+ Digital Museum. Taking “archive as subject” and “cross-disciplinary” as method, we encourage participants, artists to engage in archival interpretation, research, and creation. In so doing, we challenge the “impossibility of queer archive,” and envision the possible practice of online curation. Therefore, the project collaborates with “Open Museum” (Academia Sinica) to utilize multiple forms of archive (documents, items, maps, discourses, audio/video files, soundscapes, and etc,.) as the base for curation, with which, we envisage the contextualization and sustainability of the archival future of Taiwan LGBTQ+ history.
