C-LAB Office, formerly Military Band Office, was built between 1965 to 1968. A 2-story flat-roofed building utilizing reinforced concrete construction, its program was to provide office space and dormitory units for the military band. To minimize disruption from daily rehearsals, a remote north-western site was chosen. To cut down on solar gain, windows were concentrated on the east and west elevations, with suspended awnings running 1 meter (3.3 ft.) deep. Besides daily raising and lowering of the Flag, National Day, and New Year’s Eve ceremonies, rehearsal music was also a hallmark of the area's historic soundscape.
