循環經濟時代的設計創新
Design Innovation in the Era of Circular Economy

循環經濟是這個時代最具前瞻性與挑戰性的課題之一。IDEO宣稱「設計界的下一件大事是循環的」，並且認為「將循環經濟轉變為主流將會是我們這個時代最大的創造性挑戰之一」，循環經濟的出現是對長久以來線性經濟「取─造─用─棄」（take-make-use-dispose）的深刻反省，試圖重新思考在地球資源逐漸耗竭的情況下，如何降低天然礦物的開採、建立創新的設計系統、提高產品回收與再製的使用、促進物質流動的封閉式循環、最後達到零排放與零廢棄的目標。這個趨勢揭示了產業界不只在觀念上，同時在整體結構上從材料、製程、設計、乃至行銷、服務各個層面都需要進行重大的改變。

在此變革中，設計師扮演了相當關鍵的角色。設計師不再只是被動地使用現有材料的創作者，而且是主動地參與新材料開發的研究者，更是積極地投入產業循環系統建構的協力者。未來透過設計師與產業界的緊密連結與合作，才能創造循環時代的新價值，達成經濟、社會、生態的平衡與發展。

本演講試圖從2017年臺灣設計展「循環設計國際館 Betwin Ocean」的展覽談起，接著分享近兩年跟中華紙漿公司花蓮廠的研發計畫，包含跨領域合作與工業廢棄物的循環設計原型製作，最後提出5項循經濟時代的設計挑戰。

當生物學與建築學交融：協作模式
Merging Biology with Architecture：Collaborative Models

This lecture will focus to the life Object exhibition which was shown at the Israeli Pavilion in the 15th Venice Biennale for Architecture that I have co-curated. The exhibition was a multidisciplinary exhibition based on collaborations between architects and scientists from different fields of Life-Sciences, who were invited to develop together speculative scientific-architectural scenarios, relating to local and global architectural and planning questions. The lecture will examine new methodologies discarding the binary distinction between nature and culture and relate to possible implications of the integration of the architectural discipline with biological research. Curatorial issues related to this exhibition which was conceived as a research platform, will also be discussed.
